The Paths of the Via Francigena in the Siena Region
The book is made up of two substantial parts. In the first section, a basic picture of the concpts of medieval road is given, as well as the reasons that brought about the founding of the Via Francigena. In the second section, twenty-three tourist itineraries illustrates the most important architectural, artistic, and landscape testimonies found in each area.
